KELLY MILLER - PRINCIPAL
Kelly founded Step in Time Studio of Dance in 2012, Kelly loves leading the team at Step in Time Studio of Dance. The opportunity to share her passion for dance to all of Step in Time's students is a lifelong dream come true for Kelly. Now, as a Mum of two, she understands the importance of the quality of care and the nurturing environment parents wish for their children.
Dance has always been a huge part of Kelly's life, having trained in all styles for over 30 years. Kelly has completed 2 years full time performing arts training, where she gained a Certificate 4 in Dance and Performance and also a D.F.T.A Theatrical Teaching Diploma. She has also gained her Theatrical and Modern Jazz Teaching Certificate's with the C.S.T.D.
Kelly has been teaching extensively throughout Melbourne for over 20 years. Having taught a wide range of age groups from 3 year olds right up to adult classes.
In 2009 Kelly enjoyed the unique experience of travelling to South Africa with Mayibuye in the position of head dance teacher in a Dance & Life Skills camp held for the disadvantaged youth of Hammersdale, Kwa Nuswa.Then in 2010, she gained a 6 month contract to teach in Hong Kong at the Glenda Allen Dance Academy. Whilst there she also spent time choreographing for the Scotty and Lulu Live Children's Show.
Kelly's choreographic works have also been displayed in America; at Disneyland, Universal Studios and Hollywood Boulevard. Kelly’s choreography has been on display at numerous events throughout Melbourne, including: Dance Cancer Initiative (aired on foxtel), SMA Gala Ball, Pennisula Cadbury Easter Festival, the Moomba Parade, the Royal Melbourne Show, and many more festivals and charity events.
ANASTASIA ROSS
Anastasia also known as Miss Annie started dancing at the age of 3, as a kid she mainly trained in ballet, but as her passion for dance grew she picked up more styles. These days her favourite dance styles include Jazz, Acro, Pom and Cheerleading!
Over the years Anastasia has Completed many SFD examinations, VCE Dance and went on to study and become a qualified teacher through Southern Federation of Dance.
A couple of highlights of Anastasia’s dancing and teaching career include performing and taking workshops in New York, LA and Disneyland, performing as a cheerleader/dancer for the Melbourne Rebels, Choreographing for charities such as Dance Cancer Initiative which was aired on Foxtel, Competing at the Cheer and Dance World Championships in Orlando Florida and then Coaching her University Pom team to become National Champions and taking them to the World Championships in Orlando, Florida!
Anastasia is looking forward to be back teaching at Step in Time!
BRIDGET CALLAGHAN
After training, competing and performing at a studio in Brisbane since the age of seven, Bridget moved to Melbourne to further her dance training at Spectrum Dance.
During her three years at Spectrum she trained in various dance styles and also drama and singing. She had many performance opportunities with Spectrum including dancing on the AFL Grand Final Footy Show, Shared Tables Corporate Ball, and dancing with the Melbourne Storm cheerleaders. In 2013, Bridget won the Spectrum Dance LA Scholarship: an opportunity to travel to the states and take class with internationally renowned choreographers.
Bridget also works for a children’s entertainment company, and she regularly performs children’s shows at various shopping centres and festivals around Melbourne.
Bridget has found a great passion in teaching various types of dance to children and adults of all ages and she is thirlled to continue to teach and inspire the talented students at Step in Time Studio of Dance.
CRYSTAL MISFUD
Born and raised in Melbourne, Crystal began her dance training at a very young age. Her passion for dance grew as she was trained in styles such as Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Musical Theatre, Contemporary, Acrobatics and Hip-Hop.
In 2016 Crystal furthered her dance knowledge at Jason Coleman’s Ministry Of Dance where she studied full time. During this period she was fortunate enough to have been mentored by many well known industry professionals such as Jason Coleman, Adrian Ricks, Michael Ralph and many others. Crystal has also participated in many workshops around Australia over the years learning from different choreographers all around the country as well as having the opportunity to perform in many events both interstate and around Melbourne.
Upon graduating Crystal has been spending her weekdays and Saturdays sharing her passion and giving back to the dance community. As a teacher, Crystal’s aim is to provide a fun and supportive environment where students are free to grow and express themselves creatively.
EMMA SPENCELY
Emma’s passion for dance began at 5 years old where she began training at Anton Lee in Rochester. She grew up learning ballet, jazz and tap.
Her teenage years saw her commuting to Melbourne where she trained intensively with the National Ballet Theatre and Ballet Theatre Australia during the summer breaks. Whilst completing VCE she was accepted into Kelly Aykers Full Time Dance to complete her elite course, transfer into a Diploma of Musical Theatre where she graduated at the end of 2018. Whilst completing her full-time training, Emma has performed in two musicals choreographed and directed by Kelly Aykers; Pippin and Chicago, as well as additional performances such as Victorian and Australian Dance festivals, corporate events and Crown Palladium gigs.
In 2019, Emma booked her first professional tour, Kelly Aykers’, Company A show “Broadway and Beyond,” which saw her performing across Victoria for majority of that year. Emma also made her film debut in, “The Very Excellent Mr Dundee,” which aired in 2020.
Since then, Emma has been training under some of the top names in Melbourne, singing and dancing her way through the Melbourne gig scene, and sharing her passion of all things Musicals with her students at Step In Time.
ISABELLE DRAY
Originally from Brisbane, Isabelle (she/her) began dancing at the age of 8, training in all styles. She then went on to begin her full time training at RAW Dance Company in 2018 where she attained her Musical Theatre Diploma and broadened her knowledge of theatre. In 2019 she moved to Melbourne where she completed the rest of her full time studies at Jason Coleman's Ministry of Dance, specialising in Dance and falling in love with the Commercial dance scene.
Isabelle has gone on to perform with artists such as Tones and I and performed in Australia's Got Talent, AFL Grand Final Footy Revue and choreographed/performed in a music video for Emma Tomlinson in QUBE Effect.
Isabelle has a strong passion for teaching and strives to connect and engage with all her students and create a fun class environment that allows dancers to be comfortable in exploring their passion for dance. She encourages her students to work hard and support one another to achieve and bring out the very best in themselves. Isabelle brings a very charismatic and enthusiastic energy to her classes and pushes to create challenging, stylistic and intricate movement.
KYRALEE MATTHEWSON
Kyralee is a full time classical ballet dancer, currently working as a Trainee with the Victorian State Ballet. After falling in love with dancing at age four, she trained in all styles of dance from classical ballet, contemporary, tap, jazz, pointe and musical theatre. She began performing with the Victorian State Youth Ballet at age 12, and at age 14 she was offered a place in the companies pre-professional program. Training over 35 hours a week, she performed alongside the company in professional ballets and would travel interstate to perform. She was also lucky enough to perform lead roles, including Alice in Alice in Wonderland and Clara in the Nutcracker, with Victorian State Youth Ballet.
During her 4 years of training in the pre-professional program, she received her Diploma in Proffesional Dance & Elite Performance.
Kyralee has a huge passion for teaching, and her class is always a safe space for her students to be themselves. She focuses on creating a positive atmosphere in her classes, and helps each individual child in their own dancing journey. She has loved her experience teaching so much already, and cannot wait to see what this next chapter holds.
MEAGAN STRICKETT
Meagan started dance at the age of four. Very quickly, dance became a lifelong passion and took over her life. Meagan has trained in many dance styles including Classical, Jazz and Tap. Meagan has completed the Southern Federation of Dance Syllabus in Classical, Jazz and Tap, achieving Honours with distinction multiple times.
Furthering her training, Meagan studied VCE dance and went on to study her Southern Federation of Dance Teaching Certificate. More recently, Meagan has successfully completed the Progressive Ballet Technique course.
Meagan has vast experience in dance as she has trained dancers of all ages and abilities in many different genres. Lastly, Meagan has taught at many dance studios around Melbourne and will be celebrating her 10thYear of teaching in 2020.
PARIS TORCASIO
Paris started her dance journey at Step in Time Studio of Dance in 2014 at age 9. Initially starting with hip hop, Paris’ love for dance was founded, eventually taking up Ballet and Jazz and more styles in the future. Over the years Paris trained with Step in Time’s competition team, competing in many competitions and performing in many stage shows such as DanceAid and Masters of Choreography with the Senior Squad and training for her SFD Ballet exams. Paris also branched out to acting opportunities, working in performances such as Shrek the Musical Jr and Grease the Arena Experience.
Paris soon discovered a desire to teach dance in the very studio that she trained at, Paris has completed the DanceStep training course, and she enjoys giving back to the dance world what she was given.
RIANA PAUL
Starting dance at age 7, Riana fell in love with it immediately. Beginning with just jazz, she soon grew interest in other styles, eventually training in jazz, tap, ballet, contemporary, acro and hip hop and completing her Certificate II in Dance.
Knowing her love for dance was bigger than the small city of Townsville, Riana moved to Melbourne in 2019 to study full-time dance at Transit Dance in the Performing Arts stream. Over the next 3 years, she completed her Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance) and Certificate IV in Dance Teaching and Management. Training in a plethora of dance genres including jazz, musical theatre, ballroom and latin, tap, partnering, lyrical, contemporary, ballet, acrobatics, commercial jazz and hip hop. In her final year, she completed the Graduate Pathway.
Riana has always had a passion for teaching and is ecstatic to be joining the Step in Time team in 2022.
SERA SCHULLER
After completing her Cert IV and Diploma at Queensland Dance Performance College (Director - Bonnita Anthony) Sera competed in the Prix de Lausanne, a world renowned ballet competition in Switzerland(2013). Sera continued her classical training on the Gold Coast at Professional Classical Coaching with Suzanne Way. Here she was accepted into Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto where she spent two years training as a Pre-Professional student.(2014-2016)
After returning back to Australia, Sera was offered a position with the Victorian State Ballet in Melbourne, Victoria. Sera is now a Leading Soloist in her third season with VSB, performing roles such as Fairy Godmother in Cinderella, Big Swan’s in Swan Lake and Snow Queen in the Nutcracker.
